Welcome to the Democratic Party of Teton County, Wyoming!

GO LESLIE!

Get ready to campaign, Teton County. Our friend and neighbor Leslie Petersen is runnning, running, running all over the state as the Democratic nominee for governor. She needs our help.

Teton County is one of the biggest bastions of Democratic votes in the state, and we have to get out the vote here.

Yard signs. Phone banks. Canvassing.

All these campaign tactics will be front and center in coming weeks. We'll be asking Teton Dems to come out and work in support of Leslie. Both in Teton County and statewide. Stay tuned.

Are there differences between Petersen and Republican nominee Matt Mead? You bet. Leslie is pro-choice, supports health care reform law and wants Wyoming to get out from under federal wolf management by adopting trophy game status. And Matt ..... you guessed it. He's on the wrong side of all these critical issues.

Candidate Petersen needs a Teton County coordinator. He/she will help set up events, lead campaign efforts here, gather volunteers, be Leslie's eyes and ears on the ground in her home county.

Check out her web site at http://www.peopleforpetersen.com/ or for more information call 307-703-2010 at her Casper HQ.

AND DAVID!

As if a gubernatorial candidate weren't enough, Teton County also is sending our own David Wendt across the state in his campaign for Wyoming's single Congressional seat.

David, president of the Jackson Hole Center for Global Affairs, has Wyoming roots stretching back to his wrangler days as a young guy, a rare depth of experience from working in a Washington think tank, and the kind of passion for real, honest solutions that makes us Democrats.

Help him crack the power that right wing lobbies and the GOP Washington clique have in the person of incumbent Rep. Cynthia Lummis -- a member of the Tea Party Caucus in Congress.

Wendt's state headquarters is in the same building as our Teton Dems office, 160 S. Cache Street. Stop in and show your support. His campaign already is working non-stop to identify potential voters, as the first step in a major get out the vote (GOTV) campaign that will be running statewide. Teton Dems will be instrumental in that effort.

Learn more about David Wendt at http://www.wendtforwyoming.com/ or contact his campaign at 734-3913.

DEMOCRATIC STRENGTH TRANSLATES INTO MORE PRECINCT LEADERS!

Teton County Dems set a record this year for candidates running for precinct leader. We're just shy of a full slate -- with 62 candidates running for 64 positions. Show your support by voting for them in the Aug. 17 Democratic primary.

Democrats came on so strong in the 2008 election that we have gained an additional ten precinct committeemen and women. These are the neighborhood voices of our party, and they are chosen in the primary election that will be held this year on Aug. 17. The numbers of precinct leaders are based on the number of voters in the congressional election every two years, and our numbers jumped as people surged to the polls to support Gary Trauner.

Our precinct leaders are tasked with supporting the party in the best way they can, whether by canvassing, contributing financial support, holding a meet-and-greet for a candidate, making campaign phone calls, or however else they might be able to help. We have strong people running for these slots.

The new slots are for one committeeman and one committeewoman in each of the following precincts: 1-5, Mid-West Jackson; 1-10, S. Hoback; 4-1, Wilson East; 4-2, Moose-Wilson Road; 4-3, Wilson West.
