2004 Nellie Tayloe Ross Banquet  

Former United States Congressman David Bonior will deliver the keynote address at the Wyoming Democratic Party’s 2004 Nellie Tayloe Ross Banquet to be held on February 21st at the Hitching Post Inn in Cheyenne, WY.

Bonior has had a distinguished career in public service. He was first elected the US House to represent Michigan’s 10th Congressional District in 1976, and from 1991 until his retirement in 2002, he served as the Democratic Whip. In that post, Bonior was the second in command in the Democratic House Leadership.

The Nellie Tayloe Ross Banquet, a Democratic Party tradition, honors the commitment to justice and principle exemplified by Bonior. The Wyoming Democratic Party nominated Ross to complete her husband’s term in a special election following his death in office. She was inaugurated as the first woman governor in the United States on January 5, 1925. Ross' first speech as governor advocated fiscal responsibility and greater protections for working families.

The 2004 Nellie Tayloe Ross Banquet will take place at 7 PM at the Hitching Post Inn in Cheyenne on Saturday, February 21. Tickets are $50 per person or $95 per couple and may be purchased from members of the host committee or by calling the Wyoming Democratic Party at (800) SAY-DEMS.
