  Dana joined the Wyoming Democratic Party staff - for her second time - in June 2011. Previously, Dana worked for the party as a field organizer on Gary Trauner’s 2008 U.S. House race. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2010, where she was president of the campus Democrats as well as chair of the Young Democrats of Wyoming. For her contributions during this time, she was honored with the Party Builder of the Year Award in fall 2009.

  During the 2010 election, she worked in Iowa managing a successful state House race. After that, Dana spent several months in Connecticut working for the Association of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 4 on the "Campaign for the Middle Class," organizing lobbying efforts on issues related to taxes, shared sacrifice, retirement security and affordable health care.
