Help preserve bald eagle habitat in Mequon

The eagles are in an area known as the Donges Bay Gorge which is listed as one of the projects eligible for funding under the Federal Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program. With action by Congress this project could be moved toward the top of the project list and be funded for next year. Sen. Kohl is on the Senate Appropriations Committee and Congressman Obey is chair of the House Appropriations Committee
At Senator Kohl’s office ask to speak with Rebecca Young or his Chief of Staff Joanne Anton.
It can also help to call Congressman Sensenbrenner's office.
Please ask these legislators to take action on this ASAP as the Appropriations committees are meeting now.
