Wisconsin Activists Run to be Delegate to Democratic National Convention

Democrats to Hold Caucuses in Every County of State

Delegate selection is in full swing for the Democratic National Convention. Local Democrats are now organizing county caucuses for selecting delegates to attend the convention in Denver. Wisconsin will send a total of 92 delegates. Caucuses are scheduled for every county in Wisconsin. Please see attached spreadsheet for details.

To run for Congressional District (CD) delegate, a candidate must submit a delegate intent form to the State Party by Friday, April 4 at 5:00p.m. They must then attend the county caucus on Sunday, April 6. At this caucus, attendees will vote for who will fill that county’s allotted number of delegate spots at the Congressional District caucus.

Those voted on from the county caucus will be delegates to the CD caucus on May 4. Delegates to the CD caucus will make a final vote on who will be sent to the national convention in Denver.

Before the county caucuses in April, the State Party will have completed trainings across the state to ensure that anyone that wants to run for delegate has the opportunity and fully understands the caucus process.

“Record Democratic turnout in our Wisconsin primary is a testament to the incredible enthusiasm and support for our Democratic candidates,” Wineke said. “Wisconsin Democrats have already proved how engaged and excited they are to support Democrats in this election. Now, we’re seeing that same enthusiasm as activists run for the opportunity to represent Wisconsin at the national convention.”

A full list of county caucus locations is attached. Another 28 pledged delegate positions will be selected by the State Party’s Administrative Committee at their meeting at the state convention on June 13.
