This years State Convention was great. Everyone had a good time visiting with old friends and making new ones. We have a new State Chair, Mike Tate, looks like a go getter, lots of ambition and has already gone after Scott Walker, Milwaukee County Executive who is running against Jim Doyle for Governor. Can't let Walker win, he is as shifty as Nute Gringich.

Health care is now in session, and the republicans are doing their best to fight it as they always do. We do need a Choice for health care. Some like the single payer and others want the choice of choosing the type they want. In any case we havwe to let our elected officials in D.C. know our choice so they can make a clear choice on how to go.

We have space at Freedom Fest at Wakonda park and are looking for a few good volunteers. We have a tent that Cal won at the 3rd CD in Potosie last month. Anyone wishing to help out please let Chuck Bassett know so we can set up a schedule. Thanks

Next on our plate is the Dunn County Fair. We again are looking for volunteers to help man the booth. I have a few Fiengold bumper stickers and am trying to get more so we have something on the table.

At the conention, many of the chairs were complaining about the membership card. They want a more professional card that someone is not afraid to show they belong to the Democratic party. I agreed with them whole heratedly we need something new.

Also we talked about getting our share of the pac money before it is distributed to everyone except the counties. We were left with nothing last year.

Our next get together will be at the Leisure Center at 6:00 P.M. on Wedensday July 1st. Hope to see you there.
