WRISTBANDS ARE AVAILABLE!

The Democratic Women of Erie County are pleased to offer Think Blue! 11/07/06 wristbands for $2.00 each.  There are two sizes available:  large/adult or small/youth.  Proceeds from sales will benefit endorsed Erie County Democratic candidates and the organizing of the Erie County Young Democrats.  Wristbands will be available for purchase at all events, meetings, fundraisers, etc.  Or you can contact Amy Grubbe @ 419/433-3917 -- arrangements will be made to ensure you have the opportunity to show YOUR true color!  Limited supply!  Please read the following for the "history" on the Think Blue! wristbands....

Part political action committee, part fundraising effort, Think Blue is
best described as a movement for political change.  We offer a simple
way for every American to express his or her commitment to democratic
ideals, with the Think Blue bands.  The bands represent different things
to different people – some wear them simply to help make sure a
democratic president is elected in 2008.  Some wear them as a reminder
that elections matter every day.  Some wear them to help open up political
dialogue with others.  But everyone who wears a Think Blue band agrees
on one thing: our country is headed the wrong direction, and it's up
to us to try to change it.

Since January 1, 2005, we've sold more than 80,000 bands.  We've been
amazed by the support we've received – not only from across America,
but from places as far away as Japan, Denmark, and even Iraq.  With such
dedicated followers, we're confident that we can make a difference in 2006,
2008, and, more importantly, in the way Americans think about politics
every day.  Elections don't just matter one Tuesday every four years, or
even every two years.  We face the consequences of our votes every day,
when we see coverage of our American soldiers fighting a war started for
the wrong reasons, when we try to figure out how to pay for a college
education, or when we suffer legal persecution for our personal decisions.

Think Blue is an all-volunteer organization, and we donate all of our
profits to beneficiaries such as MoveOnPAC.org, 2020 Democrats, and
others that support progressive ideals.  We allocate our donations based on which organizations our supporters choose at checkout. To date, Think Blue has contributed to the following groups:
   MoveOnPAC
   Red Cross (Tsunami relief)
   The MLK National Memorial Project
   Adopt a Platoon
   2020 Democrats
   BuyBlue.org

For those of you interested in the legal aspect of our donations, read on:
Think Blue is a federal political committee. We use your donation choice at
checkout to help us determine our donation amounts, making sure we stay
well within the confines of all federal election laws. We're required to
inform you that we reserve the right to donate the money as we choose.
However, we hope you understand that part of purchasing our bands and
merchandise and making a donation to Think Blue is trusting us to use your
money responsibly and respectfully. We have done so, and we will continue
