       The Defiance County Democratic Party  encourages you to browse our website, read about the candidates, and interact with your Democratic precinct committeeperson.  On Election Day, vote your conscience.  Remember, a ballot cast for Democratic candidates will not only help return local, state and federal government to a healthy balance of power, it will send a message to the extreme right-wing that you're not going to take it anymore.   

       Whereas  Republicans establish policy at the top, with zero tolerance for members who deviate from the party line, the Democratic Party values diversity and practices inclusion.

Q:  While I don’t like the direction that our current national leaders are taking us, I don’t consider myself a "Democrat." I don’t always agree with the Democrats. Why should I help the Democrats?

A:  If you don’t like what our leadership is doing, which major party is closest to your values? The 2000 presidential race taught us that your vote only counts if your side wins. For example, voters who supported Ralph Nader based on their principles have watched their principles slaughtered by the 2000 winners. Our current leaders are causing damage that could take generations to repair across a range of issues: the economy, the deficit, international trade, foreign relations, the environment, women’s rights, civil liberties, health care, social security, education and military service. First, we must unite to stop the slaughter of the things we hold dear; only then will we have the luxury of debating how to nurture them again. Put another way: before we debate how to raise the chickens, let’s get the wolves out of the henhouse! That is why, no matter what label you choose for yourself, now is the time for you to help a Democrat.
