Welcome to Senator Mike Miller’s website!
Representing the citizens of Prince
George’s and Calvert Counties for more than 30
years in the Maryland General Assembly, Senator
Miller is concerned with issues relating to
education, health, transportation, the
environment, the economy and how they affect
you. He has been active in Democratic Party
politics since his early teens and has served
in positions of influence in both the Maryland
Democratic and National Democratic Parties. He
has held his current position as President of
the Senate of Maryland for 18
years.

care delivery. The Legislative Agenda page is

Miller, who prides
himself on his close ties to the community,
spends his evenings and weekends at
neighborhood events, school programs, and
public meetings.
Whether he’s fighting
for a new interstate highway or a stop sign in
a residential community, Mike is known for his
dogged persistence, relentless energy, and
fierce passion. He and his staff stick with an
issue until it’s resolved.
Education is
one of Senator Miller's strongest priorities.
He frequently enjoys the opportunity to meet
with school group tours from District 27 each
year at the State House. During their visit he
shares his vast knowledge of Maryland history
and gives them a glimpse into legislative
activities.

Mike Miller is a
staunch advocate for education and fights hard
for adequate funding for elementary, secondary,
and higher education programs. State grants for
smaller class size, intervention and at-risk
programs, teacher salaries, and school
construction are among his top
priorities.
Mike believes that State
funds invested in education programs are the
best way to ensure our children's future. He
believes that educational opportunities beyond
high school should be available to all who seek
it. Toward that end, Mike has been instrumental
in supporting a variety of State scholarship
programs. Annually, State and Senatorial
Scholarships award close to $138,000 to
Maryland
students.
