Rudy Martín for Congress

Democrat District 3

I am a native New Mexican and a Candidate for the 3rd Congressional District for the State of New Mexico. I was born and raised in Dixon, New Mexico (where I currently reside) until I reached the age of 16, when I moved to Albuquerque.

I am married to Darlene Jaramillo Martín, MA an educator in the Española Valley. Together, we have four sons and five grandchildren. I attended high school in Española, Pensacola, Florida and graduated in Albuquerque. I served in the United States Army where I received a Medical Discharge in 1970. I attended the University of Albuquerque and obtained a degree in Business Administration and also a degree in Spanish. Immediately upon graduation, I attended the University of New Mexico School of Law and have been a practicing attorney for over 20 years. I am also a licensed Agent with ING where I was honored with an award for outstanding achievement in Sydney, Australia. I have been recognized by Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals and Who’s Who.

As a practicing attorney, I have dedicated my life to protecting civil rights of our citizens throughout the country. I have litigated against many federal and local law enforcement agencies protecting the civil rights of their employees. I was the attorney for the Latino and Chicano Police Officers’ Association and am a strong supporter of law enforcement. I served as Managing Attorney for Indian Pueblo Legal Services and continue to be a strong advocate of sovereign rights for Native Americans.

My priorities if elected to Congress will be to support a foreign policy which is based on diplomacy and not on military action. We need to restore the integrity of these great United States. I will work hard to ensure that both Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis and Los Alamos National Laboratories remain fully functional. I will work in support of a national health policy, improve our educational system in New Mexico and develop a strong economy. We need to protect all who have contracted illnesses and sustained injuries while dedicating their lives to keeping America safe and strong. Restoring our eroded civil rights as Americans is also a grave concern.

Please help me stand up for America and New Mexico. Politics as usual has not worked and will not work. America and New Mexico need a change. Thank you for your support and financial contributions.

Sincerely,

Rudy Martín
