LOUISIANA DEMOCRATS ELECT REMAINDER OF DELEGATES TO NATIONAL CONVENTION

 

 

BATON ROUGE – The Democratic State Central Committee of the Louisiana Democratic Party has elected the remainder of its delegates who will attend the Democratic National Convention Aug. 25-28 in Denver.

 

The DSCC met Saturday, May 3 to elect the remaining delegates. The Louisiana Democratic Delegation consists of 67 delegates who will cast their votes at the convention in efforts to elect a nominee for the 2008 presidential race. Louisiana’s slate of Super Delegates has recently increased by one member since Rep. Don Cazayoux has been elected to Congress. The other Super Delegates are: Sen. Mary Landrieu, Congressman Bill Jefferson, Congressman Charlie Melancon, LDP Chair Chris Whittington, LDP 2nd Vice Chair Elsie Burkhalter, Ben Jeffers, Buddy Leach, Patsy Arceneaux and Renee Gill Pratt.
