WHAT IS BOBBY AFRAID OF?

Jindal Continues to Sidestep His Opponents and

Dodges More Debates and Forums

BATON ROUGE – It’s time for Bobby Jindal to step up and commit to debating his opponents in their race for governor. It’s time Bobby defends his record in Congress and offers solid and distinct plans for this state instead of vast generalities. The people of Louisiana deserve it.

Instead, Bobby has continued to dodge each and every request for such a forum and prefers only to address voters at events he controls. Rather than debate his opponents, Bobby finds time to speak at Kiwanis, or Chamber meetings all across the state with little or no notice to the press in another attempt to stifle questions or criticism.

Is this the kind of behavior Louisiana needs in a governor?

“Bobby’s run from debates is the sign of a coward; if he can’t control the situation he doesn’t want to participate,” said Louisiana Democratic Party Chairman Chris Whittington.

“We live in a democracy where voters have the right to question and challenge candidates rather than rely on sound bites and canned statements before casting their vote for governor. Bobby says the voters aren’t paying attention right now. I’ve got news for him – they are and they deserve a leader who stands up for their record rather than runs from it,” Whittington said.
