With all the critical fairness issues on the agenda for the 2007 General Assembly, the Kentucky Equality Federation has decided to gather all our supporters in Frankfort on the same day. Kentuckians Value Fairness / Equality is an opportunity for us to raise the voice and visibility of fair-minded Kentuckians with our legislators and our neighbors.
We need you to join us!
On the morning of the 22nd, citizen lobbyists from around the commonwealth will meet with their legislators. Click here if you would like to attend the Rally ONLY!
While e-mails, phone calls, and letters are good, talking face to face with your elected officials is the most effective way to persuade them to support fairness. The Kentucky Equality Federation will supply you with all the training and tools you'll need to have a successful visit with your lawmaker.
A lot of times people are afraid to meet their elected officials, but their is no reason to be afraid or intimidated; every time you purchase a non-food item, stay in a hotel, or renew your automobile registration you are paying non-refundable taxes (not to mention personal income tax) to the Commonwealth of Kentucky or its subdivisions. You are the citizen who pays these taxes and your elected officials to remain in office (it isn't likely they would remain if it was a volunteer position).
Have you signed up for training on how to lobby your elected officials? Sign-up for free training at one of these locations:
- January 10th - Lexington
- January 18th - Richmond
- January 21st - Elizabethtown
- January 22nd - Louisville
- January 23rd - Morehead
- January 25th - Northern Kentucky
Special thanks

Every single person in Frankfort from the Clerk of the Senate to the Governor are paid with our tax dollars and work for us, the citizens of this commonwealth and they need to hear this from you!
Lexington Herald-Leader Quote: "We cannot allow any elected official to second-guess the judgment and decisions of our local governments or institutions. They have a better understanding of what's in the best interests of their community." - Kentucky Equality Federation President Jordan Palmer regarding Representative Lee's filing of a bill to prohibit domestic partnership benefits at Kentucky schools.
