Candidates needed

When Larry Grant spoke at our "It's Cool to be Blue" party March 2, he emphasized the importance of getting Democrats to run in coming elections, both non-partisan and partisan.
A party exists to give voters choices on candidates and issues. If we can get our people in office and our legislation passed --great!--but we must give voters alternatives.
Elections in 2007 include school boards (file by 4/13 for elections 5/15) and city councils (file by 9/28 for 11/06 elections). Both are non-partisan but provide name recognition and practical experience for those interested in pursuing higher offices. (School board members run from specific districts; city council members run at-large.)
Nampa School District zones 1 and 2 are open. Others will be added here as we get word.
2008 is a major election year with voting for U.S. president and for U.S. Senate (Larry Craig's position).. Last filing date for the primary elections will be March 28; the election will be May 27. County positions we are interested in are County Prosecutor and Commissioner Matt Beebe's and Steve Rule's seats. On the state level, districts 10, 11, 12 and 13 will each elect two state representatives and one state senator.
Anyone may file in Democratic primaries without notifying the central committee of the party. The party has helpful information, however, on strategy, mailing lists, and required financial reports.
