Update from May 24 2007

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Dear Friends,

I’ve been active in the Iowa Caucuses since 1987, and this is by far the best field of Democratic candidates I’ve ever seen.  While it’s no secret that I’m backing John Edwards, progressives are all over the board regarding candidate preference.  Many feel it’s still too early to commit.  In fact, in conversations I’ve had with many of you, my informal polling indicates that the largest block of voters remains undecided.

Although I’m supporting Edwards, I also attend other candidates’ events to listen to their message and hear how they respond to questions.  Civility and open-mindedness are critical in politics and social change.  Long after the caucuses are over, we will all need to continue to work together on the issues we care deeply about.

So please, whether the event you’re organizing is to promote a presidential candidate or an issue, feel free to invite me.  For my part, I will continue to update you about the events I’m involved with.  And whether you’re committed to a presidential candidate or not, if you live in eastern Iowa, I hope you’ll take the time to meet the entire Edwards family this Memorial Day weekend at one of the events listed below.  Thanks,

Ed Fallon
