Vice Chair Angel González
I have served in this capacity since elected at the IDP State Convention this past summer. I also serve as the Affirmative Action Chair for the 2nd Congressional District.
I am a Labor Educator and work at the University of Iowa Labor Center. My family and I moved to Iowa from Puerto Rico and now reside in Iowa City. I attended Penn State University where I received a BS in Labor Studies and Industrial Relations and later obtained a JD from the University of Puerto Rico.
My goals for the Latino Caucus include:
-
Maintaining a voice at the table for Latinos throughout Iowa.
-
Securing inclusion of issues affecting Hispanics in all platforms and forums of the Iowa Democratic Party.
-
Increasing the outreach to and recruitment of Latino activists and candidates into our Democratic Party.
-
Ensuring our party’s leadership reflects the community it represents.
