Vice Chair Mohammed Amjed
I am originally from Pakistan. I
represent many communities of color known as
the Asians Pacific Islanders (API). My
goal is to identify and engage various
sub-groups of Asians and Pacific Islanders, and
involve them in the legislative, judicial, and
exectuive processes of government at state and
national level and make democracy a more
representative form of government for all
Iowans.
I have master's level preparation in Political Science, Public Health Administration, and Sociology. I have 25 year experience in state government. Currently, I am teaching administrative science at Des Moines Area Community College. I have served as member of Fort Madison Community School Board, Governor's Juvenile Justice Advisory Council and Secretary, Iowa Asian Alliance Advisory Board.
