Chair Bob Krause
The key to outreach is the extensive organization of Democratic veterans that has been established through monthly meetings of the State Democratic Veterans Caucus Steering Committee. "This is an historic time in our country, and I urge you to answer this 'second call to duty,'" says Krause. "Your country needs your involvement now as never before! One way that you can become active is to attend our monthly meetings, or get involved as a veterans representative on a local level. Ask me about it, or send me an email at robert.krause@us.army.mil"
Krause is a long-time Democratic
activist, and retired as a
lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserve
after 28 years of
commissioned service in 2001. He
was a state legislator in the
1970's, and served as Regional
Representative for the Secretary of
Transportation during the Carter
Administration as the ranking
department official for Kansas, Iowa, Missouri
and Nebraska. He has
also served on the Waterloo School Board.
Krause is active in veterans
groups, and served for three years
as state president of the Reserve
Officers Association (ROA), and
also as national public affairs
officer. He is also a member of a
number of other veterans
organizations.
In civilian life, Bob
is Planning and Coordination Manager for
the Office of Public Transit, Iowa Department
of Transportation. He is
a widower with two children and is engaged to
be marrried again soon to
