CAPE HENLOPEN – Today, The Delaware Democratic Party’s Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution praising and commending Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. on his run for the presidency.
“We’re honored our favorite son, Senator Joe Biden, is taking on this enormous task,” said Jim Paoli, New Castle County Democratic Executive Chairman. “We support his efforts in keeping Delaware’s Democratic issues such as health care reform, public safety, and equal rights at the top of his agenda.”
“Senator Biden’s recent bill to put 1,000 more FBI agents on the street tells us he’s serious about fighting crime and maintaining order in our cities,” said Theo Gregory, City of Wilmington Democratic Executive Chairman. “His efforts to stop domestic violence, with the Violence Against Women Act has provided shelters and funding for a national hotline that that has served more than 1.5 million women.”
“For the last 30 years Senator Biden has served Delaware diligently,” said Abby Betts, Kent County Democratic Executive Chairwoman. “We’re confident he’ll serve America with the same strength and dedication as he has Delaware.”
We as Delaware’s Democratic Party Leadership feel Senator Biden’s vast knowledge of foreign affairs will bring the best resolution to a deadly war, started by a Republican president who’s short sighted strategy in Iraq has cost close to 4,000 lives and nearly half a trillion dollars. “Senator Biden will keep us safe from terrorists, while rebuilding the badly needed support of our allies, which the Republican’s failed policies have eroded,” said Tom Chapman, Sussex County Democratic Executive Chairman.
Senator Biden has a long, tough, costly battle ahead of him. It’s important we all unite as one in Delaware, especially the Democratic Party to show how much we appreciate his undertaking.
“I’m excited by the initiative my sub-committee chairs have undertaken,” said John Daniello, Delaware Democratic Party Chairman. “Sen. Biden will make us proud in 08.”
