Stand up to an assault on political free speech Act by Saturday, April 30, 2005
In the House, ethics charges against House Majority Leader Tom Delay are piling up as the GOP pushes for more changes to the ethics rules to save him. Meanwhile, in the Senate, Majority Leader Bill Frist is aggressively pushing the “nuclear option” to end the use of the filibuster to block radical judicial nominees. He’s gone so far as saying that the Democrats are using this 200-year old parliamentary tactic to “oppose people of faith”. And this week, they’re going after your right to work for change in politics. We must stop them!
Senator Harkin to Hold "Fix it, Don't Nix it" Social Security Forums Across Iowa Act by Friday, April 29, 2005
Senator Tom Harkin has announced that he and his staff will embark on a Fix It, Don’t Nix It Social Security tour this month to talk to Iowans about the need to strengthen and protect Social Security. Harkin will hold meetings in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Mason City in late April while his staff will hold meetings in all 99 Iowa counties.

If you voted for Hennessey's, please change your vote to Natále's in Dana Point, just two blocks away. Hennessey's has a special on Tuesdays, and can't give us exclusive use of the private room, so it's too noisy there for a Meetup.
If you live further north, consider attending at Steelhead Brewery in Irvine or Hof's Hut in Tustin. We need more attendees there, rather than at Karl Strauss. This will be the last Democratic Meetup before we start the major precinct work and out of state work in September and October.
